International Experience

 

Ross Meador's international experience began early. He was born in Mexico City and holds dual nationality with Mexico and the U.S. After a brief stint cleaning guinea pig cages for the Salk Institute, his first meaningful job out of high school was in Vietnam where he opened an office for an American charity. Since then he has worked and traveled in many parts of Asia, Africa, Latin America, Europe and Australia. While at Berkeley Law, he served as Executive Editor of the International Tax & Business Lawyer law review and Vice President of the International Law Society.

 

Over the years, Mr. Meador has served as Chairman of the Legal Services Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea, President of the Korean American Chamber of Commerce of the North Pacific Coast, Vice President of the US Vietnam Chamber of Commerce, and Secretary of the Executive Committee of the International Law Section of the California Bar Association. He also holds a Certificate in Import and Export Management from the Bay Area World Trade Center.

 

An important element of Mr. Meador's cross-border, cross-cultural business practice is the emphasis placed on skilled cross-cultural communications. In this vein, together with Jinsoo Terry, he founded Advanced Global Connections, a cross-cultural business communications training company. He also serves as a Korea and Vietnam Country Specialist for Aperian Global, a global consulting and training firm.
